What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device and that your browser sends back on each visit. They let the site recognise you from one page to the next: to remember the language you chose, or to keep you inside the portal once you have logged in.
Which cookies we use
All of them are technical and first-party: they are set by WaystoSecure, by no third party. Without them the site or the portal would not work, which is why they do not require your consent; the notice you see on arrival is informative.

Two preferences that are not cookies
The light or dark theme you choose with the menu button, and the fact that you dismissed the cookie notice (stored as wts_cookies_consent, although it is not a consent: it only remembers that you have read it), are stored in your browser's local storage (localStorage), not in cookies: they never travel to the server and only your browser sees them. You erase them by clearing the site data.
What we do not do
No analytics, tracking or advertising cookies. No third party sets cookies on our domain. We do not use any visitor-measurement tool or build profiles. The server does keep technical access logs for security: we explain this in the Privacy policy, section "Security logs".
Payments
If you take out a paid plan, payment is made on Stripe's secure page, on its own domain and under its own cookie policy. WaystoSecure loads no Stripe component on its pages and never sees your card details.
How to manage them
You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings at any time. If you block the language cookies, the site will always open in the default language; if you block the session cookie, you will not be able to log in to the portal.
